Thieves broke into a van in Welwyn Garden City and stole various tools, including a Hitachi power drill and Kane flue gas analyser kit.

They struck between 5pm on Monday, February 19, and 6.45am the following morning.

A police spokesman said: “An offender or offenders have broken into a Peugeot panel van parked on Birch Drive, causing damage to the vehicle.

“They have stolen tools contained in two bags and a case before making off in an unknown direction.”
