Police investigate a common assault in Welwyn Garden City


Police are investigating a common assault after a row involving a group of youths in Welwyn Garden City last night.

Police were called to Four Acres shortly before 10.45pm last night.

A police spokeswoman said: “The victim has been walking home when he passed a group of youths. Some of them he recognised from a previous altercation.

“He engaged in a verbal altercation with the group. In his frustration he threw a stone at them.

“The offender has approached and challenged the victim and slapped him over the head and run away.

“The main offender is a white male between 16 and 20 years old.”

Police have logged the offence as a common assault without injury.
