Police in Welwyn Garden City located a wanted male and also discovered cannabis growing in a car yesterday evening.

Officers had a “double whammy” last night after firstly being called to reports of a wanted male in Woodhall near the shops.

PCSOs found the suspect hiding behind bins.

He was then seen “making off” and getting into a taxi.

Cunning officers called the taxi company to find out where the vehicle was booked to and met him at the other end.

Police tweeted: “Officers attended at the other end and our own taxi called to take him to custody.”

Officers were then called to a second incident in the same area.

Welwyn Hatfield North Police tweeted: “In a double Woodhall whammy, we also had a call to cannabis being grown in a car.

“Two plants seized and offender dealt with.

“Apparently it was an experiment - don’t remember that one in school!”
