Police were called to Parkway in Welwyn Garden City.


Police were called after a man became aggressive in John Lewis in Welwyn Garden City before going outside and climbing on top of a car.

A Herts Police spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Police were called at 4.23pm yesterday (November 27) to reports of a male acting aggressively in Parkway, Welwyn Garden City.

“Between 4pm and 4.50pm the offender was reportedly acting aggressively in John Lewis and was asked to leave by security.

“After leaving the store he was reported to have climbed on top of a vehicle and then damaged a PCSO vest.”

Following the incident, a 60-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and use of threatening or abusive words that were likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

He has been released on bail.
