Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to following a pie and some tea bags being stolen from a Potters Bar shop.

The incident happened at the Co-op store on High Street just after 11.20am on Tuesday, September 26.

The offender entered the shop and took four newspapers, a pie and some tea bags from the shelves before leaving and making no attempt to pay for the items.

After leaving the store, he got on a bike and cycled in the direction of Oakmere Park.

A police spokeswoman said: “Officers would like to speak to the man pictured as he may have witnessed what happened, or have information that may be useful to the investigation.

“If you recognise him, please call Hertfordshire Constabulary on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference J3/17/1327 or report information online at www.contacthertspolice.uk/Report/Crime.

“Alternatively, if you have any information about this incident you can contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will never need to go to court.”
