A MAN covered in a “significant amount of blood” who attended the QE2 Hospital forced police to send out their helicopter in search of a potential assault victim.
Officers were called after the injured patient arrived at the WGC hospital during the early hours of Sunday.
A police spokeswoman said they conducted enquiries in the Bridge Road and Digswell Road area to see if anyone else was injured.
She added following extensive enquiries, it was established there had been no assault and, therefore, no-one else was involved.
One man was arrested and released without charge.
