Police hunt flasher who tried to touch boy in Hatfield

Police have appealed for information and witnesses after a boy was assaulted in Hatfield.

The incident happened in Lamb Close at 3pm yesterday (Thursday) when a man approached the 12-year-old and his friends.

He exposed himself and made attempts to touch the boy, who then ran off.

The man is described as white, aged between 28 and 35, with black receding hair.

He was clean shaven and has large ears and nose and long skinny arms.

Detective Sergeant Sophia Pidgeon said: “This incident will understandably be of some concern to the community but I would like to reassure people that we are doing all we can to trace the person responsible as a matter of urgency.

“We have spoken to a number of people who witnessed what happened, however I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to contact police if you haven’t already spoken to us.

“We will have officers on patrol in the area today so if you have concerns, please do speak to them and if you see anyone matching this description acting suspiciously, please contact police immediately.”
