Police have arrested two suspects over a serious assault in Codicote, and are hunting a third.

A man in his 30s was taken by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious head and thorax injuries, and is now being treated there in a stable condition.

Police were called to Codicote High Street just before 3pm yesterday, making two arrests, and closing the road.

Detective chief inspector Jo Walker said: “Specialist detectives are carrying out a full investigation to establish exactly what happened.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information about what happened is asked to contact police via the non-emergency number 101.”

Two men, aged 26 and 30, have been arrested and are currently in custody, and police are looking for a third suspect

Police say the assault was not a stabbing, and they are investigating its exact nature.
