Police have confirmed they are investigating a deliberate attack that seriously damaged a terraced Hatfield house last night.

A van repeatedly drove into an empty house in Drakes Way at about 1am, and another vehicle parked next door was also badly damaged.

Officers attended and a search was conducted of the local area but no-one was found.

Sergeant Tom Prior said: “We believe that this was an isolated and targeted incident and enquiries are on-going at this stage.

“Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non-emergency number 101.

“If you would prefer to provide information anonymously you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or submit details through their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court.”
