Police closed off a road in Welwyn Garden City yesterday evening following a crash involving a pedestrian.

Officers were called at 7.45pm yesterday (February 26) to a report of a collision in Longcroft Lane, at the junction with Church Road.

A Herts Police spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “It was reported that a black Ford Fiesta was involved in a low-speed collision with a pedestrian.

“The pedestrian, an 18-year-old man, did not suffer any physical injuries.

“The road was closed to allow emergency services to attend the scene, and was reopened just before 9pm.”

Eyewitnesses described seeing five or six police cars at the scene with their lights flashing.
