A HELICOPTER hunt is currently underway this afternoon (Friday) in Welwyn Garden City for a missing man in his 80s.

The police chopper was scrambled and is issuing what the force calls a “skyshout” - where officers appeal for help via a loud hailer on the helicopter.

A Herts police spokeswoman said: “Kenneth Crow, who is 84 years old, was last seen at around 11am in Lodge Field.

“Kenneth is described as white, 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, clean shaven and has white/grey hair.

“He was wearing beige trousers and a waist length jacket and flat cap.

“He may have found somewhere to have a sleep so people are asked to check their gardens and sheds.

“Officers and Kenneth’s family are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare as he suffers with Alzheimer’s.”

Anyone who sees Kenneth is asked to call police via the non-emergency number 101.
