Police were called to reports that three teenagers had a gun in Welwyn Garden City this afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called at 4.44pm to reports that three teenage boys were believed to be in possession of a gun in the Howard Centre, Welwyn Garden City.

“Officers immediately attended the scene and stopped a Vauxhall Corsa on Church Road before conducting a search of the vehicle and its occupants.

“It was established that the gun was in fact a BB gun and the teenagers were filming for a school project.
