The break-in happened in Southdown Road between 7pm on April 10 and 1am on April 12, and involved offender(s) removing the padlock and forcing the garage door open. A lawnmower and several hand tools were stolen.

PC Shaun Buchanan said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area between the times stated to please get in contact with me.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind people to ensure that their sheds, garages and outbuildings are fully secure in order to deter would-be thieves.”

Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference B2/16/1468.
