Officers are appealing for witnesses and information after a moped was stolen in Hatfield.

The owner of the blue Honda, registration GY05 FSA, parked it on Chantry Lane at 12.30am on Tuesday, September 13. He returned at 8am to find that it had gone.

PC Shaun Buchanan, who is investigating, said: “A moped was heard in the area at around 1am, but it is not clear if it was the one that was taken.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anyone acting suspiciously or who saw the moped being driven away to please contact me.

“I would also be keen to hear from anyone who believes they heard a moped between 12.30am and 8am that day and anyone who has seen one for sale.”

Anyone who has any information which would assist the investigation should call the Herts Police non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number B2/16/3714.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will never need to go to court.
