Police have released a CCTV image as part of their investigation into a theft of hundreds of pounds from a Welwyn Garden City newsagent.

Officers would like to speak to the person pictured as part of their enquiries.

The theft happened at McColls newsagents in Howardsgate just after 5pm on Saturday, August 25.

The offender reached over to the till while another customer was being served and stole a quantity of cash before leaving the shop.

PCSO Cameron Abraham, from the Welwyn Hatfield Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We would be very keen to speak to the person pictured as we believe they may have information that could assist our investigation.

“I appreciate the image quality leaves a lot to be desired but if you think you know who this is, please contact us on 101 quoting crime reference 41/30925/18. Thank you.”
