Police have appealled for information after a man suffered serious head injuries in Hatfield

A man is in hospital after suffering serious head injuries in an attack in Hatfield.

Police say they are searching for three men seen running away after the 24-year-old was set on.

He is in hospital in a stable condition, police said today.

It happened at around 8pm on Monday in the communal area of a block of flats in Mosquito Way.

Two white men and one black man were seen running from the scene.

Police say one of them was carrying a blue suitcase.

Det Con Gemma Kenealy said: “I am particularly keen to locate a possible witness who was outside the flats at the time the offenders ran off.

“This man is described as being white, around 5ft 11ins tall who was wearing a black barber jacket with the collar up and a beanie hat.

“He was looking at his mobile at the time.

“If this was you, you may be able to assist my inquiries so please do make contact with police.

“I would also be keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened, saw the offenders arriving or leaving the scene or anyone who has any information which could assist the investigation.”

Anyone who can help can call DC Gemma Kenealy on 01707 806826 or the police non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference B2/15/1509.
