Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a cyclist suffered serious injuries in North Mymms today (Saturday).

Officers were called to Hawkshead Lane, near Hatfield, at around 6pm to reports a 53-year-old man was seriously injured.

He was taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage for treatment.

Police do not know at this stage how the cyclist received his injuries, and roads policing officers are keen to hear from anyone who can assist.

It is believed a van and a car both stopped at the scene and the drivers went to help the injured man, but left before police arrived.

If this was you, or you can help officers with their inquiries, call the Herts Police non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 504 of May 2.
