The president of a popular club for adults with learning disabilities is desperately in need of volunteer drivers.

The Gateway club takes place every Friday between 7pm and 9.30pm at the Jimmy Mac’s Centre in Hatfield.

Brenda Beach MBE, who has run the club for 47 years, said: “I’m pleading for drivers aged 25 or above to voluntarily drive our minibus.

“They would be required to pick up our service users from their home addresses and would need to return them home at the end of the night. It takes approximately an hour for each journey.

“None of the parents of the service users own a car therefore it is of utmost importance that our service users are able to attend the club and socialize.”

Nearly 200 people enjoy going to the club.
