A PLAQUE has been unveiled in Potters Bar to commemorate the pioneering investigation which brought a brutal murderer to justice.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police joined members of The Fingerprint Society at Potters Bar Golf Club to mark the painstaking investigation which snared 50's killer Michael Queripel.
Palm prints were taken from more than 9,000 of the town's men after the body of Elizabeth Currell was found near the 17th tee at the Darkes Lane golf club.
And after ruling out more than 4,000 suspects, Queripel was eventually snared.
