Plans for up to 850 homes on Welwyn Garden City Shredded Wheat site submitted

Developers this week submitted plans for homes and businesses on the former Shredded Wheat factory site in Welwyn Garden City.
Spen Hill’s application is for up to 850 new homes and the creation of several restaurants and cafes in the proposed Goodman Square, the scheme’s focal point.
The original 1920s silos will be refurbished and converted into apartments at the top and internally to allow for a boutique/budget hotel.
The production building will be converted into offices with the inclusion of a crèche.
The old grain store buildings will become a gym/dance studio.
