PRIVATISATION plans for NCP to take over the running of car parks in Times Territory have been scrapped.

The proposals were discussed in secret by borough councillors and only came to light this week following a Freedom of Information request by the WHT.

If agreed it would have meant the private contractor taking control of five Welwyn Hatfield-owned car parks, all in WGC; at Campus West, Campus East, Hunters Bridge, Church Road and Osborn Way.

The move was a bid to save cash.
