A Pizza Express is set to open in South Mimms after a planning application was approved by Hertsmere Council.

Motorway service operator Welcome Break will officially unveil the new restaurant near Junction 23 of the M25 on Friday, June 8.

Welcome Break CEO Robbie Bell said it will seat 88 customers, and takes the place of Ed’s Easy Diner, which previously occupied the premises.

“The service station attracts more than 1.8m visitors a year and we are always keen to offer them the best facilities on the motorway network.

“Pizza Express is an extremely successful restaurant brand and I am confident that our visitors will welcome the fact that it is coming to South Mimms.

“In recent years we have seen a growing trend with our customers, both business and leisure, wanting to spend more time at our Services and to be able to enjoy a dining experience.”
