PICTURES of children have gone missing after a laptop and camera were pinched from a school.

The thieves, who are unlikely to have known the stolen items contained the images, broke into Our Lady Catholic Primary School in Woodhall Lane, WGC, overnight on Thursday.

It is not clear if it was just one burglar or if a gang were involved, so police are asking witnesses to come forward.

The break-in took place some time between 9pm on Thursday and 6am the next day. They took a pink Fujifilm Finepix digital camera and black RM laptop.

Detective sergeant Pete Ward said: “These burglars have callously, for their own personal gain, deprived schoolchildren of items that would have helped them in their education.”

“I would like to encourage anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the school at the time of the crime or who has seen these items for sale to contact me immediately with information so we can bring those responsible to justice.”
