Petition over Welwyn Garden City sorting office closure

POSTAL workers in WGC are calling on residents and businesses to sign their petition against closing the town’s sorting office.

As the Welwyn Hatfield Times reported last month, plans by Royal Mail to close the WGC sorting office in Bessemer Road and move the operation to Stevenage have been met with outrage from staff working there.

Now workers have organised a petition, and want as many people as possible to support them in the fight to keep the office open.

Workers will also be in WGC town centre over the next two weekends asking passers-by to put their names down.
