This week’s Pet of the Week is a puppy who has helped a Hatfield autistic boy’s confidence blossom as they become best friends.

Meet eight-week-old Luna Lou, who lives in Hatfield with Sasha Monk and her two children, Hayden, eight, and Phoebe, two.

The family got the Blue Staffy to help Hayden, who has autism, with his confidence.

Sasha said: “We’ve only had her a couple of days and already she has made the children so happy.

“Luna Lou and Hayden are best friends and he has been so much more chilled out since she came into our lives.”

The puppy follows the children around and the three constantly play together, even teaching the pup to play ‘it’.

Sasha added: “She is the perfect example of how great dogs are for families and children.”
