A PENSIONER has been taken to hospital with head injuries after falling down a flight of stairs in Knebworth.

Paramedics were called at noon today (Wednesday) after a man in his 80s fell down steps at a residential property in Deard’s End Lane.

The Hertfordshire Air Ambulance was also scrambled, landing in nearby Knebworth Golf Course.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “The man who we believe to be in his 80s sustained a head injury and following treatment and stabilisation by land and air ambulance crews, he was taken by land to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage for further care.”
