A man in his 80s suffered a chest injury after falling through a loft hatch in Cuffley.

The ambulance service was called at 2.23pm on Tuesday, February 18, dispatching a rapid response vehicle, ambulance, hazardous area response team (HART), ambulance officer and the Herts Air Ambulance to the scene in Tolmers Road.

The air ambulance landed nearby in Brookside Crescent.

Ambulance officer Gary Sanderson who attended the incident said: “Our crews, the air ambulance team and HART operatives worked extremely well together to treat, immobilise and remove the man from the second floor in a specialist MIBS stretcher to the awaiting ambulance outside the property.”

The man was taken by land to Barnet General Hospital where he is in a stable condition.
