Passenger glassed with wine bottle in train attack

PUBLISHED: 06:20 10 October 2011

A MAN was hit over the head with a wine bottle in an unprovoked racist attack on a late-night train.

The incident happened just before midnight last Saturday, October 1 on board a train travelling from London King’s Cross and the three attackers all left the train at Potters Bar.

Witnesses claim one of the three black men, all aged either in their late teens or early 20s, hit the seated man over the head with the bottle while walking through the passenger aisle before claiming “you white boys need to die”.

The victim made an attempt to press the emergency stop button but was prevented doing so by the three men.

One witness, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “The train was quiet and just filled with couples of all ages and of people minding their own business.

“They hit the man sitting down for absolutely no reason and he was desperate to press the emergency button to stop the train.”
