A pizza firm has set its sights on a move to Hatfield - and plans to go head-to-head with a rival in the same building.
Papa John’s has applied for planning permission to move into a former nail bar in Parkhouse Court.
There is already a Domino’s Pizza in the building, while another takeaway, Moe’s Peri Peri Grill, also faces onto Parkhouse Court.
An application document submitted to Welwyn Hatfield Council stated: “By making use of an empty property, the proposed change of use will add footfall to the Parkhouse Court area, which is likely to result in additional activity and trade within the neighbouring units.”
Papa John’s says it expects the majority of orders to be home deliveries, but said customers and delivery vans would use one of the two public car parks in the complex.
