Visitors and businesses can have a flipping good time in Hatfield town centre by entering a Pancake Day contest.
The annual Pancake Day race for children and adults and the Flipathon competition for businesses will take place underneath The Arcade on Shrove Tuesday, March 5 from noon-12.30pm.
Participants in the Pancake Day race, who are advised to wear flat shoes, will be put into pairs and the winner will be the individual with the fastest time.
The Flipathon winner will be the person who can flip their pancake the most times in a minute.
Welwyn Hatfield Council executive member for partnerships, councillor Bernard Sarson, said: “You’d batter believe the annual pancake race is back in Hatfield town centre, and we’re hoping to see even more businesses and visitors taking part this year.
“There are prizes on offer for the winners, and it’s a great chance for businesses to get to know each other over their lunch breaks and for visitors to take a look around the town centre.”
Both activities are free to participate in and pancakes and frying pans will be provided.
