MARK Russell and Kelly Sanchez have been found guilty of the murder of John Redhead.

The jury returned their verdicts at 11.30am this morning (Wednesday) at St Albans Crown Court.

Russell, 31, of Chester Close, Little Heath, was found guilty of murder.

He had admitted stabbing dad-of-two Mr Redhead four times, but claimed he did so in self-defence.

Mr Redhead, 40, was seen with a carving knife sticking out of him on CCTV from the Murco petrol station on Barnet Road, Potters Bar.

Sanchez, 21, of Mutton Lane, Potters Bar, was found guilty of murder by aiding and abetting Russell.

During the trial she was told by prosecutors she was the cause of her boyfriend's murder - and had egged Russell on.

Russell will be sentenced at 2pm this afternoon. He is facing life behind bars.

Sanchez, who was visibly distressed as her verdict was read out, was stripped of her bail conditions and remanded in custody.

She will be sentenced in April.
