Shoppers at The Galleria in Hatfield didn’t know what had hit them when 120 over 50s broke out in a flash-mob style routine.
The dance was part of the Saracens Sport Foundation, Love to Dance classes that are targeted at people over 50 with the aim of getting men and women dancing and socialising.
The foundation runs 24 weekly classes across Hertfordshire and holds various events throughout the year to get participants performing and socialising.
Events have included Christmas parties, quiz nights, Wembley performances, salsa evenings and more.
A spokesperson for the foundation said: “The Sunday shoppers all stopped to a halt when Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ played loudly and everyone started dancing.
“The spectators seemed to really enjoy the performance and some even joined in when we held our workshop after the performance.
“The Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City class numbers have reduced recently and we want to encourage as many local residents as possible to join the class to have fun and keep active.”
The Love to Dance Welwyn Garden City class is held at Ludwick Family Centre, in Hall Grove, on a Tuesday at 10.45am until 12.45pm, at a cost of £5.50 per class.
The Hatfield class is held at Friendship House, in Wellfield Close, on a Thursday at 1pm until 3pm at a cost of £6 per class.
