Specsavers in Welwyn Garden City held a charity bake sale as part of National Eye Health Week.
The opticians in Howardsgate teamed up with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) as part of an effort to encourage the ageing workforce to take their eye health seriously.
They held a bake sale and raffle for the charity over Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30 and raised £180, which will bolster the funds raised by store director Andrew Durrant.
Andrew has so far raised £300 leading the team in their fundraising efforts and he will run the half marathon in October to raise money for the RNIB.
The funds will go towards raising awareness of the need for regular eye tests. WGC Specasavers has recently trained up RNIB ambassadors in store, to help staff best assist customers with low vision and broaden their understanding of advanced eye care services available.
