One boy ‘slashed in face’ and another suffers back wound in Welwyn Garden City brawl

Two boys were injured in a brawl in Welwyn Garden City in the early hours of this morning.
The fight happened in Howardsgate just before 1.20am today (Saturday, October 14).
A police spokesman said: “It was reported that a large number of people were involved in a physical altercation outside the Howard Centre, near to the taxi rank and CEX.
“During the incident, two teenage boys suffered injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
“The first suffered a slash wound to the face and the second suffered a puncture wound to his back.”
Detective Sergeant Malcolm Dey, from the Welwyn Hatfield Local Crime Unit, said: “We believe there were a large number of people in the area at the time of the incident that may have witnessed what happened.
“If you have not yet spoken to police and believe you may have information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 quoting ISR 44 of October 14.”
A scene guard remains in place on Howardsgate this morning.
