Police arrested a man after a large gathering in Hatfield


Police have arrested a man after they were called to the scene of a large gathering in Hatfield.

Police were called shortly before 4am today to report an altercation in Broom Close.

A police spokesman said: “Officers attended and a large group of people had gathered in the street.

“The group left shortly after police arrived.

“During the incident one man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and was taken into police custody.”

Nilan Bennett, aged 27, of Norberry Hill, Stretham, London, has been charged with failing to provide a breath specimen for analysis and obstructing police.

He has been bailed to appear before Magistrates on March 7.
