Police are investigating after two iPhone 7 handsets were stolen and a woman was assaulted in Welwyn Garden City.

Police are investigating after being called to the EE store in the Howard Centre yesterday.

At around 1.40pm two offenders stole mobile phones and one of the offenders pushed a member of staff, a woman, out of the way in the process.

The woman was not injured.

The offenders then ran out of the store through the shopping centre.

The phones taken were both the new iPhone 7 models.

A police spokeswoman said: “Anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the shopping centre that day or who saw the offenders running from the scene should please call the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting reference B1/16/3249.

“This is being treated as a robbery and an assault.”
