AROUND �4,000 of old people's cash has been stolen from a day centre run by Welwyn Hatfield Council.

The money was paid by retired and disabled people who use the Jim Macdonald Centre in High View, Hatfield.

It went missing between May and October last year, and an investigation was launched.

Council director of finance Bob Jewell told today's WHT: "Investigations failed to determine a culpable individual for the missing funds.
