AN off-duty nurse who found a man unconscious on the side of the road helped to save his life.

The QE2 Hospital nurse spotted the man as she drove along Parkway, in WGC.

Other people were just slowing down to look and then driving off.

The nurse, who did not want to be named, said she was shocked people did not try to help.

She soon jumped out and gave the elderly man life-saving resuscitation.

A hospital spokesman said: "Although our nurses are trained to deal with exactly these sort of emergencies within our hospitals, it is always fantastic to hear about how they are regularly putting this training into practice to save people's lives, wherever they may be.
