A ROAD has returned to normal after a war-time grenade was found by a resident. The Paddock in Hatfield was cordoned off this morning (Tuesday) after the device, believed to date back to World War Two, was unearthed.

The Paddock in Hatfield was cordoned off this morning (Tuesday) after the device, believed to date back to World War Two, was unearthed.
Police and bomb disposal experts from the Royal Logistics Corps raced to the scene and neighbours warned to stay inside and away from their windows.
The grenade was made safe and taken away by the Army bomb disposal unit just after 1.30pm.
