Nominate your Welwyn Hatfield unsung hero

Don’t miss out on your chance to nominate someone who proves community spirit is alive and thriving in the Welwyn Hatfield borough.
The Welwyn Hatfield Community Awards reward those people who are making a significant contribution to their community,
whether as a volunteer, fundraiser or unsung local hero.
This week we are focussing on the category, Carer of the Year.
This award is for someone who has given up their time to look after someone else. Perhaps a child is helping to look after a disabled parent or maybe husband has devoted his life to caring for his wife who has suffered a debilitating illness.
When making a nomination please consider the following criteria:
– How have they gone the extra mile
– How have they helped improve someone’s quality of life
– Sacrifices made to provide level of care
– Assistance given to other projects or causes
Editor Nina Morgan said: “Far too often carers work so hard to improve the lives of others without the recognition they deserve.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to give them a pat on the back.
“If you know of someone, whether it be a neighbour, friend, relative or colleague who fits the bill, don’t hesitate to nominate them.
“Don’t delay, nominate today!”
All nominations must be made by June 16.
There will be an awards ceremony on July 20 at Oaklands College, The Campus, WGC.
