MP Grant Shapps and councillors Fiona Thomson and Malcolm Cowan met Highways Agency officials to find out the latest developments.
They were told nearly 90 per cent of the borough's motorway section had now been re-laid with the quieter surface.
Sections still awaiting resurfacing include northbound past Handside in WGC, a stretch running past Ayot Green and up to the Clock junction, and Stanborough Lakes.
