WITH concerns nationally over voters being turned away from polling stations, it has been confirmed Welwyn Hatfield has not had the same problem.
In Manchester, Sheffield and London, there have been reports of huge three-hour queues preventing people from voting before polls closed at 10pm tonight (Thursday).
Some cases even resulted in police being called to deal with the manic queues.
However, in Welwyn Hatfield, returning officer Michel Saminaden has told the Welwyn Hatfield Times no such thing has happened in this part of the county.
He said: “There have been large queues in the area but fortunately no one has been turned away here.”
