NO-SHOW Tory Paul Smith has stepped down from Welwyn Hatfield Council today (Wednesday), the WHT can exclusively reveal.
The 22-year-old came under fire last month when it emerged he had not attended any council meetings since November.
He initially refused to quit despite calls for his head, but today a spokesman for Welwyn Hatfield Conservatives said Mr Smith had tendered his resignation.
A by-election for his Hatfield East seat is expected to be held in June when county and European polls take place.
