NO police action is set to be taken after allegations of fraud against a former County Hall highways contractor.

Officers had been passed files by Hertfordshire County Council following alleged whistleblower claims.

But today (Wednesday), force bosses confirmed no criminal investigation is set to follow after reviewing the evidence.

A spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Hertfordshire Constabulary conducted a review following allegations of fraud between Hertfordshire County Council and one of their contractors – Amey La Farge.

“The allegations made related to works carried out under contract between 2002 and September 2012.

“Having conducted a full and thorough review of the circumstances surrounding these allegations Hertfordshire Constabulary are satisfied that any further police investigation or action is unnecessary.”
