AN Arsenal fan has escaped a football banning order despite pleading guilty to two offences at the first leg of the club’s Carling Cup tie against Ipswich Town.

Scott Everid, from Cuffley, was fined £250 for a public order offence and another £250 for resisting a Pc when he appeared at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The offences happened in the away end of Ipswich’s Portman Road ground 15 minutes into the semi-final clash, which Arsenal lost 1-0.

Everid, 27, of Northaw Road East, also had to pay £100 costs.
