A bit like Krypton Factor for primary school kids, Junior Brain Trainer on Nintendo DS is aimed at six to 11-year-olds who like solving logic problems and showing off their reading, writing and mathematical skills. It is also ideal for pushy parents who want to give their kids a competitive edge over classmates and, at just £19.99, it will probably be finding its way into plenty of Christmas stockings this year. While it is possible to work your way through all the puzzles in one go, the game can also be split into five daily activities, testing key skills in comprehension, spelling and mathematics. A Space Hopper would be better though.
