A NEW hairdressers has opened in WGC town centre and has already been awarded five stars by the Good Salon Guide.

Wilde About Hair on Fretherne Road was given the gold-standard by the independent scheme which assess professional standards across the industry.

And to celebrate its successful start, the salon has teamed up with the WHT to offer our readers 10 per cent off all cuts and colours.

Owner Gary Wilde had been operating his family-run salon in St Albans for three years when the Tryangles hairdressers closed down.

He jumped at the opportunity to breathe new life into the shop and opened with manager Lizzie Gilbert at the helm.

Lizzie, 24, who has a background in L’Oreal colour, was very proud of the store becoming accredited with a L’Oreal colour bar and thinks customers will appreciate the quality the brand brings.

Along with Gary’s wife Claire, who is a colour degree specialist, and stylists Holly and Danielle from Tryangles, Lizzie believes the uni-sex shop will offer something for everyone.

Lizzie said: “We’re really proud to have gained the five stars, especially as we aren’t a really big chain. People can rely on getting a good standard every time they come in.”

She added: “It’s really exciting to have opened here. I do feel there’s a gap in the market for Wilde About Hair.

“There are other salons in WGC but we’re all very different.

“Customer service is the key.”
