A LOT of casual conversations are had in hairdressers all over the country.

However, a pair who got talking while working in a salon have teamed up to open their own hair and beauty salon, aptly named the Hair and Beauty Boutique in Old Hatfield.

Beautician Karen Veitch met hairdresser Emma Barton when they both worked at a WGC salon together.

Together they gutted a unit in The Broadway, then built a section for Karen to administer treatments such as Endermologie - for dealing with cellulite - and an area for Hertford-based Emma to set up her salon.

Karen, from South Hatfield, said: "It's quite a small salon but it's got a really warm feeling to it.

"We offer a wide range of treatments from spray tans to top of the range haircuts.

"We had been looking to set up in Old Hatfield as it has got a nice village feel to it.

"So far we have been really busy and in our first six weeks it has been a real success."
