PLANS for a new Splashlands could soon be on the table, as Welwyn Hatfield Council pushes forward.

The council’s director of governance Bob Baldock is seeking permission from councillors to make a planning application for the site at Stanborough Park in WGC.

A report to cabinet said: “The council wishes to progress with the Splashlands project [– which will be a water park with no swimming pool –] and as the second phase of detailed investigations comes to a close, there will be a need to make a planning application once the detailed designs have been produced.

“The making of any planning application by the council in relation to its own sites or projects requires prior cabinet approval.”

Cabinet members were due to discuss the permission at last night’s (Tuesday) meeting.
