A NEW head of the Hertsmere Neighbourhood Team has been appointed, following the death of the previous leader last month.

Neil Morehen will replace Dave Rankin as Neighbourhood Inspector, following insp Rankin's sudden death last month at the age of 47.

Insp Morehen will now head up the Hertsmere Neighbourhood Teams, the Community Safety Unit and three sergeants, neighbourhood officers, PCSOs and Special Constables.

"I worked with Dave over a number of years in a variety of posts and I'm going to carry on his excellent partnership links and help keep Hertsmere residents accustomed to the service they received from him and his team," insp Morehen said.

"I want to make sure that every resident in Hertsmere has the opportunity to express their views so that everyone can help shape local policing priorities."
